A light version of the very well known Nero Software.
The Nero 9 Suite is an extensive collection comprising tools for editing videos or audio files, ripping audio CDs, converting cassettes to CDs, creating photo slideshows and editing photos. The well known Nero software has kept its head high in the category of Multimedia suites, CD Burning and various other sub-categories.
It would make sense to go for the Full suite only if you need these features along with the standard features in the original Nero 9 Suite. Nero now offers basic tools for burning and copying data discs in a freeware package called Nero Lite, which has just one component: StartSmart.
Nero has done a very smart thing by highlighting the main features of the full suite. The basic tabs required are lined up at the top of the window. The bad news: you will be prompted to upgrade to the full suite if you select any function. The baseline feature of burning and copying discs is very easy- you can add data very easily. Also, the burning speed can be configured from the main menu that can be accessed via the button near the Nero logo at the top left corner of the window.
Verdict:Minimal Components for burning CDs and DVDs
FOR:Very easy to use, light on resources and not a high memory consumer.
AGAINST: No cover editor, cannot create audio CDs
